Feature: Temporary Trailer use for failed vehicles

Operation mode:

1. Find the position of the trailer hitch behind the towing vehicle and in front of the towed vehicle. The position of the trailer hitch of many cars is designed at the lower part of the bumper. Generally, a clear position will be marked in the vehicle operation manual. The owner can also find a hidden space by observing the front and rear bumpers. The position covered by the round or square cover here is the position of the trailer hitch.
2. The trailer hook of some cars is split and needs to be assembled when in use. After removing the cover on the bumper, assemble the hook carried with the vehicle.
3. Install the trailer tool. Whether soft or hard Trailer tools are selected, it is necessary to ensure that the vehicle hook is firmly and reliably connected during installation. If the trailer hook is designed with a safety latch, it needs to be locked in place. Check the front and rear connections again before driving the trailer. The soft trailer rope without tow hook at both ends shall be tied with a loose knot when in use. If the knot is killed and pulled by huge traction force, it will be difficult to untie the trailer rope.
4. The tractor starts in first gear to ensure high torque and provide sufficient traction. At the same time, the tractor needs to control the speed and keep driving smoothly. When it feels a little resistance, increase the power output. For manual transmission models, avoid jerking the clutch pedal and start slowly with semi linkage to avoid damage to the vehicle.

Matters needing attention:

1. Trailer tools with striking colors shall be selected, such as yellow, blue, fluorescent green, fluorescent red, etc. If the color is not eye-catching enough, the colored cloth strip can be hung on the trailer tool. When towing at night, try to use the trailer rope with reflective materials to increase the warning effect. The trailer shall turn on the fault light. If the light cannot be turned on due to lack of electricity, there shall be eye-catching signs, such as marking "fault vehicle" at the rear of the vehicle, so as to remind the vehicles behind to avoid. During driving, the front and rear vehicles should turn on the double flashing warning lights and drive along the outermost lane. You can also paste the "trailer" sign behind the towed vehicle to indicate that other vehicles drive carefully.
2. The trailer tool shall be installed at the trailer hook position on the same side of the front and rear vehicles. If the faulty vehicle is the left hook, the tractor shall also choose the left hook to ensure straight driving after driving on the road. In addition, when installing the trailer hook, it must be checked afterwards to ensure that the trailer hook is installed firmly, so as to avoid injury caused by the ejection of the trailer hook during use.
3. Pay attention to the communication and cooperation between the front and rear vehicles. There are many knowledge about trailers, among which the cooperation between front and rear drivers is very important. The driver in front of the trailer shall formulate a reasonable driving route to avoid sections with complex road conditions and congestion. If there is no walkie talkie as a communication tool, the communication signals for starting, deceleration, turning, uphill and downhill operations need to be agreed before going on the road, so as to achieve the same control of the front and rear vehicles.
4. Control the safe distance between vehicles. In order to prevent rear end collision when towing with a trailer rope, it is necessary to master the vehicle distance and speed. Generally, the length of the trailer rope is about 5 ~ 10m, so the vehicle distance should be controlled within the effective range of the trailer rope and keep the trailer rope in a tensioned state. Experts remind that the speed of the trailer must be controlled below 20 km / h.
5. Old drivers are suitable for driving faulty vehicles. Experienced drivers should operate the vehicle behind, while less experienced drivers should drive the tractor in front. During driving, the tractor shall control the speed, pay attention to keep stable, and do not slow down and fast. Even if the road is flat and straight, don't drive at high speed. When parking, you should choose a wide area, first sound the horn or notify the rear vehicle with a gesture, then slow down and continue driving. When you judge that the rear vehicle has driven close to the roadside, stop slowly.
6. The curve of slope section shall be flexible to deal with potential hazards. The risk coefficient of trailer in downhill section increases obviously, and different methods shall be adopted according to different road conditions. If the ramp is very long, you can untie the rope and let the two cars slide down separately; If the ramp is not long, hang a rope to go downhill. Don't step on the brake easily in front of the car, and then the car can step on the brake gently to keep the rope tight all the time. When encountering a curve, the two vehicles should turn on the lights in advance as far as possible. It is advisable to take a big circle and avoid sudden braking. When passing through a narrow curve, drive along the outside of the road to avoid the rear vehicle driving out of the road.
7. When towing the rear vehicle, pay attention to whether the road surface is flat, otherwise it will bring huge tensile impact to the trailer rope and break.
